CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congratulations to Betty Johnson who recently received the President’s Call to Service Award from the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for over 40,000 hours of Community Service. Betty began volunteering for RSVP in 1987. She was also the recipient of a letter “signed” by Barack Obama and a certificate from Congressman Jim Himes.
Congratulations to Sarah Quirk daughter of Lisa and Dennis Quirk and Carl Rohde son of Diane Rohde who recently graduated from Wilton High School. In the fall Sarah will be attending the University of Connecticut in Storrs, and Carl will be attending Hofstra University on Long Island.
RELAY FOR LIFE
Relay for Life was a huge success for Zion’s Hill, it’s team, members and the American Cancer Society!
“The Lions of Zions” raised more than $8,000 for the Cancer Society. Team members included the Greer
family, Pauline Tukes and friends, the Quirk family, the Williams family, the Lewis family, the Adams family,
the Malkin family, the Forsyth family, the Maljanian family and the Witty family. As a team, we were
the 3rd highest fundraisers of 73 teams and Jenn Lewis was the 3rd top individual fundraiser of over 700
participants! We had a wonderful experience as a church community to come together and support our
church members, families and friends who have been affected by cancer. Team members relayed from
5pm on Friday evening until 6:30am Saturday morning! In addition, Caitlin Witty won the talent competition
with a wonderful song (while wearing her Lions of Zions t-shirt!) Relay for Life was a wonderful, moving
event, one that we very much look forward to participating in as a Church Community again next year!

SPRING CLEANUP

Please mark your calendars, Sunday, May 2nd we will be doing our Spring Clean up following the worship service. We will provide a picnic lunch for all and get our Church looking great for Spring. Trimming bushes, planting flowers, cleaning up inside and out….Hope you can join the fun.
JOIN OUR RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM—RELAY FOR LIFE IS
MAY 14TH—15TH
As a Church community centered around service as well as effected on many levels by cancer, we have decided to support Wilton’s Relay for Life on Friday, May 14th by creating a Zion’s Hill Church team. To join our team, please go to www.relayforlife.org/wiltonct to register. Our team name is Zion’s Hill Church. It is $10 to register and they ask that each member try to raise $100. This is an event which is held at the high school track where teams raise money for cancer research by walking a relay from 5pm on Friday evening, through the night to 7am Saturday morning. Do not fear!
Not all teammates walk all night!! This is a true relay where members will take portions of the time through the night—supporters are welcome to join for a period of time, or set up a tent and camp out for the night! This is an extremely powerful event where people who have been directly and indirectly affected by cancer can come together and experiences and support while raising money toward a cure. Kim and Jason Witty will be coordinating the activity as Captains of the team. We will also be organizing a car wash at Zion’s Hill on May 1st from 9 to 12 to raise money for our relay for life team. We will have sign ups at church if you or your children are interested in heping our with our car wash.
